FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it?
I wanted to reflect the female role model: A strong woman who works hard and keeps on loving fashion and express herself through it.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose it…what do u do to find it?
I'm always looking for inspiration, and when I'm completely lost, my inspiration comes from my favorite’s photographer like Emma Summerton, Mario Testino, Txema Yeste, Jonathan Segade, Lara Jade…
3. What do you look for and lookout for… when putting together the perfect set team?
My team must be a group of talented and nice people (I don't like egos). But most of all, they have to work very hard.
4. Why editorial, session work? So many say it’s a dead road… why did you continue to pursue this path?
I just love so fashion editorials so much!
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
I try to capture the little things and moments happening that day. I like to adapt my idea to the circumstances.
6. Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set, good or bad.
While shooting in the exteriors of the Royal Palace in Madrid, a group of Japanese tourists stopped by to see how we were working and they took a lot of pictures!
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
“A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together is reality.” ― John Lennon
“Work hard, be kind, and amazing things will happen.”-Conan O'Brien
I like nice, hard-worker people who loves what they are doing.
My personal mantra … always be myself and never be an evil person.
8. Is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
A few years ago I went through a deep depression that really has never gone away, I'm still battling and I won't give up until it is defeated.
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliché?
I think that the work must “speak” more than the artist.
I don't want to be a celebrity, I just want to be better, photo by photo. I don't care if I’m “cool” or not.
10. Favorite adult beverage? Why…and when did u first have one?
I love almost frozen beer, but I do not drink it daily.
I think my first time was when I was 15 …and I just wanted to know how it tasted

FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it?
I would rather not pull it apart. I visualized the idea; it’s how I felt at the time. I then talked with the team about it and proceeded to collaborate from there.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose it...what do u do to find it?
I am probably most inspired by a combination of experiences, daydreaming, and going on walks. I’m particularly inspired by places, it’s important to go to places you've never been. Being lost and alone is useful; it’s romantic not knowing what is around the next corner. I love possibilities; what could be. If I feel like I have lost inspiration that’s the cue to relax, take a break and take your mind off of it.
3. What do you look for and lookout for... when putting together the perfect set team?
I look for people that are on the same wavelength as far as taste, but still unique and have their own ideas. I look for people that are reliable and committed to the success of the project on a very personal level. I look for people who are good at what they do and enjoyable to spend time with. People who are bad communicators, flakey, lazy/not committed or who have an over inflated sense of self-importance are a huge turn-off.
4. Why editorial, session work? So many say it’s a dead road... why did you continue to pursue this path?
Editorial work is fun and the results are rewarding. If someone doesn’t get at least that out of it they should probably consider doing something else, which leads to your next question…It’s correct to say some may think it’s a dead road or waste of time, but judgments like that are based on completely subjective attitudes. So I guess I perceive value where others might not.
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
Staying focused is easy. You've put so much time into the project up to the point of getting on set and you've gathered the team, letting distractions get in the way is just letting yourself and your team down, which is unacceptable. Luckily, staying focused and having fun aren’t mutually exclusive.
6. Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set, good or bad.
One time we were shooting in the woods and we quickly figured out we were in the middle of a popular cruising site. There were many dudes who all happened to be wearing blue wandering around either aimlessly or on a mission. That was unexpected.
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
There isn't any one quote, but I have always enjoyed the writer’s monologue at the end of 8 ½. It’s long, but the gist is that it’s important to only engage in creative ventures that are truly necessary. It’s better to not create, or even to destroy, than to create something of little worth. They are definitely words to consider when push comes to shove. I don't really have a mantra.
8. Is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
There isn't any one experience, but rather, the collective experience of working with my closest friends has been extraordinary. Having mutual support, positive energy, and meaningful relationships is exceedingly valuable personally and professionally. I owe them an infinite amount of gratitude; a debt that no matter how hard I try I will never be able to repay in full.
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliché?
People would be best off relaxing, being themselves, and following their convictions rather than behaving in a way that they feel is expected of them. I guess I'm saying the best way to not be a cliché is to not be a cliché, hah.
10. Favorite adult beverage? Why...and when did u first have one?
On a hot, sunny, dry summer day nothing beats a negroni. It’s refreshing, pleasantly bitter, and conducive to conversation. A friend of mine who had spent some summers working in Tuscany (where it was invented) introduced me four years ago.

FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it?
Speaking on behalf of my team, I would say the unanimous mindset behind this idea was to portray the death of a creative soul trapped in the mimes of today's societal cliché. I think all of us feel this way once in our life. I believe every human is a born artist, be it any art. This collection represents how naturally creative minds are forced to adapt to a robotic corporate job for survival, thus killing the artistic flair in every soul.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose it…what do u do to find it?
I take inspiration from the people I meet, my personal experiences and a lot of cinema. For eg. I am particularly moved by stories of the previous centuries. Maybe that's what inspires my nostalgic style of images. Often, I simply sit on a bench and observe people for their expressions and their body language. If and when I lose it, I take a random subway or a bus and travel to and fro in it. Somehow, my brain activates amidst the speed and the crowd :)
3. What do you look for and lookout for… when putting together the perfect set team?
Most of the times, I wait to get an approval from my instincts when it comes to selecting the right model for an idea. Sometimes I approach people on subways to make portraits of them. :) Often I sit with my preferred stylist to discuss models and the corresponding make up artist and hairstylist. As for an assistant, I try to find people who have worked with me before, who are easy going, friendly (to keep the calm on the set) and fast paced.
4. Why editorial, session work? So many say it’s a dead road… why did you continue to pursue this path?
I like telling stories more than selling clothes :)
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
On sets, I brief every team member of the possibilities of improvisations while I focus on the light, the frame and the movements of the model. I constantly refer to a pre-made sheet of elements that I know I may forget to add or remove while shooting.
6. Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set, good or bad?
I think it would be this project itself. We were shooting by the sea which was pretty wild, sucking in most of our things with the rising tides. I think at a point I thought I lost my model and the stool under the crazy waves!! haha Thankfully his head popped up pretty soon ..that too alive!
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
I was fortunate to attend a lecture by Paolo Roversi in school. I still remember he talked about opening up to your subject. "It's a give and take and there is none, unless the photographer opens up, becomes vulnerable in front of the subject" This stuck by me and I still try to use this method with some of my subjects. It's almost like my subject won't show his wounds unless I show mine. My mantra is "click like you fart" haha ..when no one knows, not even the subject.
8. Is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
Moving to Paris, definitely!
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliché?
I don't think people realize there is a difference between taking good photos and running a business of taking good photos. That's a common mistake. I'd say, instead of trying to fit in, be patient and try to stay true to your style and instincts.
10. Favorite adult beverage? Why…and when did u first have one?
Dark Guinness. Don't care about the girl drinking etiquette.. I simply love it!

FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER DUO INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were
creating it?
Simplicity. We wanted to create something simple with a lot of use of shape and a small hint of color, bright colors but not loud.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose
it...what do u do to find it?
We find our inspiration in our everyday life. From reading books, magazines,
Looking at photography, watching movies etc. Inspiration is everywhere you just have to see everything out of a creative point of view.
3. What do you look for and lookout for... when putting together the perfect
set team?
We look for people who like to take a creative initiative and contribute to the
concept when planning the shoot, people who can come with suggestions to
perfect the concept. What we look out for is the exact opposite, a person without a creative mind who won’t add anything to the shoot.
4. Why editorial, session work? So many say it’s a dead road... why did
you continue to pursue this path?
Shooting editorials is a great way to get the work you are truly passionate about out there. When we shoot an editorial we shoot something we really like and that we want others to see and hopefully be inspired by.
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
Easy! Our entire crew is always very focused and on the same level as us, so
when we are on set shooting the only thing on everybody’s mind is the work that we are doing at the moment.
6. Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on
set, good or bad.
The most unexpected, and embarrassing thing that has happened was this one time when the model got out of hair, makeup and wardrobe after about 1.5 hours and we shot one frame and then the camera died. Always bring a spare!
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your
work? What is your personal mantra?
"You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it." You have to dress to the occasion. Imagine showing up to a fashion shoot wearing crocs and
sweatpants, the people around you would probably second guess your ability to shoot a decent fashion story haha.
8. Is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the
biggest impact on your career?
The day we decided to team up as a creative photographer duo. It completely
changed our photographic style and also how we approach the creative aspect of it. By teaming up it feels as if we found ourselves, and the style of photography we want to do.
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what
can others do to avoid being a cliché?
Nowadays putting a flash on your camera, point, shoot a half naked girl and call yourself a photographer is the biggest cliché. Try to be unique by learning good lighting and put your personal touch on it, it is the only way to stand out.
10. Favorite adult beverage? Why...and when did u first have one?
Definitely “Old Fashioned”. Great drink for any occasion, and a very classy one too. Can’t remember the first one but it was probably about ten years ago.

FEATURED MAKEUP ARTIST INTERVIEW
1 What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it.
I was Just back from doing makeup on the shows in Milan and Paris and was looking to do something fun and creative.
2 Where do you most often find inspiration from And when you lose it…what do u do to find it.
I get a lot of inspiration from music, art, movies and just everyday life. If I lose my inspiration I look for the subtle shifts in light and skin tone on the models face. That means finding the magic that you can only find by being in the moment.
3 What’s your favourite technique or trick. And who taught it to you?
My favourite technique is highlighting with shimmers. I refined the technique while working on shows and 18 years living and working in Milan.
4 Why editorial¨ session work? So many say it’s a dead road… why did you continue to pursue this path?
I enjoy the creative process and exploration of working with a team on a shoot. I don’t believe that it’s a dead road, The digital world is changing how we look at images and as always there are growing pains. We are in a phase similar to when VHS video changed how we viewed movies. The film industry was afraid that it was the end but after the dust settled Hollywood got bigger that ever. Print and Magazines will most likely follow the same path.
5 While on set how do you stay focused?
I love what I do so it’s easy to stay focused when everyone is on the same page.
6 Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set good or bad.
While on a shoot in India, The model saw some men washing decorative paint off an elephant in the river. She jumped in the river and grabbed a brush and started scrubbing the elephant clean.
7 Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
You are the average of the five people you surround yourself with. Courage is doing something even though you are afraid. And my personal mantra is the Chinese proverb ‘ The best time to plant a tree is 200 years ago. The next best time is right now.
8 Is there anyone experiences in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
Learning to present and calm in the middle of chaos and still be creative.
9 What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliché?
Just being Good at makeup is not enough. Everyday you wake up, you have a different experience and a different point of view. If you honour that and stay present, you will never become a cliche.
10 If you could go back to the beginning of your career¨ what piece of advice would you give your newbie self?
Trust your Instincts.
11 Who is your biggest role model and why? What collection stands out in your mind?
David Bowie is my role model because he has always been a fearless explorer of art and expression. Even though he is he is not fashion he often inspires it.
12 What colors are you in love with right now?
I’m in love with colour that surprises me in the moment. something unexpected.
13 Favorite adult beverage Why…and when did u first have one?
Wine. Because I love food and cooking. Wine when you pick the right one will enhance the taste of what you are eating and also cleanses the pallet so that you don’t loose the impact of the flavour. I had my first taste of wine at christmas when I was about twelve.

FEATURED HAIR STYLIST INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it?
A playful lightness was the main idea. I tried experimenting with different structures and though stay breezy and light, keeping the hair in flowing movement.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose it…what do u do to find it?
I like watching old movies, I also get my inspiration from shapes, textures and colors in architecture and art. I'm also totally fascinated by the natural: the natural world, the natural beauty, the natural expression. But sometimes I just experiment freestyle. And when I lose it, I go to my favorite place - the japanese garden at Planten un Blomen park in Hamburg.
3. What tool would you never leave the house without? As well as product?
For the job: I think it would be the flat iron - you can always do something creative with it...the product - Aveda's volumizing tonic. it's one of my favorites. For the private: my favorite lipstick.
4. Why editorial, session work? So many say it’s a dead road… why did you continue to pursue this path?
To me editorial work is always about storytelling. You can tell a story without using a single word - only images. I'm always trying to convey something that can tickle someone else's imagination, inspire people and open the door for interpretation.
Dead road? I don't really agree with it. I think telling stories will never end...
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
I always try to have fun, have good times with my team and enjoy my work whenever on set. And if there should be a single moment of "unfocusness", i try to stick to my work-flow structures.
6. Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set, good or bad.
Well, I have so many good things and memories on set, but a have one funny experience that happened a while ago...there was a super-cute but cheeky little dog that was jumping around the set and farting so badly that he made the whole team laugh and obviously we had to take a longer break to catch some fresh air.
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
Let loose what you cannot control. Serenity is what counts in life.
I always look for that magical spark.
8. Is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
No, there wasn't really any particular. The only thing that had big impact on my career was moving to Hamburg. It's where this journey started.
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliché?
Some people in the business take themselves and their job way too serious. And they lose their authenticity. That's a great pity, I think, So my credo is: Be you. Be authentic.
10. If you could go back to the beginning of your career, what piece of advice would you give your newbie self?
Go out and assist people you admire as artist and person. At the beginning of the career the most important thing for one's own development is to assist different artist to experience different styles and techniques.
11. Favorite adult beverage? Why…and when did u first have one?
Oh, it was love at first sip. I just love Pimm's Nr. 1 (Cocktail). But with a lot of fruit & veggie stuff in it. Looks like a huge mixed salad in a glas. I just had the perfect one on my last trip to munich at the bar Cooperativa. You have to try it!

FEATURED MAKEUP ARTIST INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it?
For this collection, the photographer Sayaka Bono gave me the opportunity to have fun. We chose a very graphical style and it's something that always pleased me. I knew I could do something great and I tried to be original, I always try to do better than what I did in the past.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose it...what do u do to find it?
We can find inspiration everywhere. In nature, material, colors, and also in the work of other artists, make-up artists, painters, sculptors…
Some situations or faces inspire me more than others. I sometime feel that I'm losing inspiration and this is quite disturbing. There I only try to get confidence and have fun.
3. What is your favorite technique or trick? And who taught it to you
I love shiny and glowy effects.
Miss Brilliantine is my best friend!
4. Why editorial. session work? So many say it's e dead why did you continue to pursue this path?
This is a place where we can always create and share. And we meet new people so often.
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
During a shoot, I need to view the pictures as they are taken. I try to check every detail of the make up, talking with the photographer about the way to improve and evolve the collection in order to tell the best story. I need a lot of concentration and I often feel that my minds empty at the end of the day!
6. Shale with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set. good or bad.
I recently worked for a shoot on the "Dôme des Invalides". I've lived in Paris for a long time but I was filled with wonder by this magical place usually closed to the audience. I felt very privileged.
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
"Simple but effective". I think this sentence well fits to my aesthetic tastes. A beautiful eyeliner, a nude complexion and gorgeous red lips is not easy to get, but they look easy and always work well.
8. is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
It's a tough job where bookings are hard to come by. I may have already quit it if some of my relatives had not supported me all the way. I hope I'll still meet new people who will trust me and help me to improve myself.
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliche?
Sometime people have a lack of simpleness. I'd like to tell them "stop trying to surprise the all world, surprise yourself first and you'll be on the right track."
10. lf you could go back to the beginning of your career. what piece of advice would you give your newbie self ?
I would tell myself "get more confident and don't believe everyone!"
11. Who is your biggest role model and why? What collection stands out in your mind?
I like the work of Topolino and Carole Lasnier. They both inspire me much, they've got incredible skills and a very graphical approach of the make up. I hope one day I can be as creative as they are!
12.What colors are you in love with right now?
I turn to cool colors; electric blue, turquoise, mauve. They speak to me more than warm colors to me right now.
13.. Favorite adult beverage? Why...and when did u first have one?
A good beer, always simple and effective! I must of had the first one in my teenage years…

FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHER INTERVIEW
1. What does this collection say about your mindset when you were creating it?
I imagined a bright multicolored bouquet which was made of various fresh blooming flowers.
2. Where do you most often find inspiration from? And when you lose it…what do u do to find it?
It is a mix of inspiration from everyday life and magazines.
3. What do you look for and lookout for… when putting together the perfect set team?
When you create an image in your head and you really want to replicate that exact idea, the fear of not succeeding in it is what I always lookout for. I always make sure that my team is on the same page as me.
4. Why editorial, session work? So many say it’s a hard road… why did you continue to pursue this path?
To me an editorial is the narrative made of a few chapters. I love story telling
5. While on set, how do you stay focused?
I disconnect myself from reality, and completely dive into the concept.
6. Share with us the most unexpected thing that has happened while on set, good or bad.
I didn't have a lot of unexpected things before, but recently something unpleasant happened on the set. I was shooting an editorial in Miami and the setting outside was cancelled because of the weather conditions, we had to do it inside and it was very difficult to shoot inside at the facility. On that day so many things went wrong, my equipment was soaked and some things were ruined, on top of everything the model had fainted during the photoshoot because she didn't feel well on that day. Also we didn't expect to see another team of photographers shooting at the same location as we were.
7. Favorite quote or quotes you live by? And how do u apply them to your work? What is your personal mantra?
In photo veritas! I do the best I can.
8. Is there anyone experience(s) in particular that you feel has made the biggest impact on your career?
Mario Testino, Terry Richardson, Patrick Demarchelier
9. What do you believe is a common mistake within the industry? And what can others do to avoid being a cliché?
The biggest mistake is that with an introduction of digital photography many forgot about film and the origins of photography, about the old style classics and it's charms.
10. Favorite adult beverage? Why…and when did u first have one?
I occasionally enjoy a glass of good cognac. I tried my first glass of cognac in France circa 2000.
